WOOF CANCER DAY
McCarthy Cars has been trading in Croydon since 1973 – and to this day, we’ve always taken an active interest in what’s going on in our local area.
We’re a dog-friendly dealership, and there’s an upcoming event that we feel is well worth publicising: Woof Cancer Day, which takes place in Croydon on February 4, 2018.
Woof Cancer Day is a sponsored five-mile dog walk. It’s being organised by Cancer Research UK (CRUK) with the intention of collecting £10,000 for a very important reason – and one that is very close to our hearts.
It’s a sad fact of life that cancer touches all of us in some way. While it clearly remains a major blight on human kind, it affects animals too. In fact, our own Rob McCarthy said goodbye to his beloved four-legged friend, Koyo, in the early part of 2015. This delightful Bernese Mountain Dog sadly succumbed to cancer. You might be aware of our dog-friendly car rating system, which was set up in Koyo’s honour.
Of course, McCarthy Cars will play its part on the day, and we’d love it if you could join us.
Bring friends and family – and as many dogs as you like, and help CRUK achieve its target. The money will be put toward revolutionary research that will help further tackle the disease.
If you would like more information about Woof Cancer Day, and how you can help, please get in touch with us any day of the week. Alternatively, please email Hannah.Preston@cancer.org.uk – or phone her on 07810 757 408.
